When are the ESR tender round deadlines?   National Grid ESO runs restoration tenders periodically to ensure there are sufficient generators and other assets available to provide this service. The latest ESR tender rounds began in 2022 and will continue into 2024, covering the full geography of mainland GB. The South-East and Northern tender has concluded. NGESO have made related decisions on successful ITT1 submissions for the South-West and Midlands and the ITT2 process for these generators is underway. ITT2 tendering is now active with a submission deadline of the 19th of May 2025, but time is of the essence, as this stage includes an extensive range of detailed technical review and commercial preparation.   Renewable technologies in the restoration process    These latest ESR tender rounds being run by National Grid ESO now not only afford generators the chance to participate in this crucial service, but they now also ensure inclusivity, welcoming

In July 2024 we took the whole TNEI team away for 2 days of team building and celebrations as TNEI marks 25 years since it first all begun! It was an action packed 2 days, kicked off with our AGM hosted by Nigel Tate and Ian Graves. Once the official stuff was out of the way, it was onto TNEI Sports Day where colleagues competed in the usual suspects; 3-legged race, sack race and the egg and spoon race. Congratulations to the winning team James, Harvey, Stephen, Will, Florence, Martin, Sarah, Zahid, Yueqi and Karen! We then partied all night with a BBQ & 90’s quiz & disco with outfits to match! The next day revellers carried on the party with the TNEI in the Park festival where each of our teams had a stand to showcase their work to the rest of the company with activities, competitions and creativity

Will your team take the trophy?    We are looking for companies working in renewables to take part in our 5-a-side Football Tournament on the 28th September.    Hosted by TNEI, the tournament is Glasgow based but UK-wide entries are welcome. Teams are limited to 7 people; we recommend 2 rolling subs per team.  ⚽ When: Saturday 28th September 2024  ⚽ Where: Power League, 1 Kennedy Street, Glasgow, G4 0EB    ⚽ Time: 09:00 – 15:00 with the opportunity for drinks at the Ark afterwards  ⚽ Entry cost: £250 per team (100% of the entry fee will be donated to local Glasgow charity ‘With Kids’)  This is a great opportunity to network outside of the office whilst taking part in a bit of friendly (or competitive!) competition.   Are you up for the challenge? It is great news for the Renewable Energy Industry as the Government has announced the lifting of the onshore restrictions in England, removing barriers for the country to achieve its decarbonisation goals. More details on the Government’s onshore wind announcement are available here. What has changed? There are two main changes: What does the lifting of the onshore wind ban in England mean for Developers? The changes, once fully implemented, are expected to significantly reduce consenting risks for onshore wind projects in England. A number of developers have already been looking into new sites in England in anticipation that a new Government would likely make policy updates. With minimal onshore wind development taking place since 2016, the English market represents a relatively untapped resource compared to the more mature markets in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
