Nigel has been with TNEI since it’s inception and has been a constant member of the management team which has seen TNEI transform from a fledgling renewables operation in the north east of England to the multi-site, thriving and diverse specialist consultancy that it is today. He is delighted to be leading such a talented team of specialists and experts in their fields.

Nilanga joined TNEI in 2009 and has worked predominantly with the Connections Team undertaking several leadership roles. She took on the Executive Director of Connections role in 2025 after serving as the Group Operations Director from 2014-2024. Nilanga is also the Director of TNEI Group and TNEI India. Nilanga has 25 years of experience in the energy industry, working on complex and challenging projects across the UK and internationally. She gained her BSc (Hons) in Engineering from University of Moratuwa in Sri Lanka and her PhD from University of Manchester.

Dieter is Director of Strategy and International Business at TNEI, as well as Director for TNEI Africa. He has more than 25 years of electrical engineering, international project management, and consulting experience across various areas of the electrical industry including renewable energy generation, transmission, and distribution.

Dr Mustafa Kayikci is a Principal Consultant at TNEI, whose core skills are the modelling of power system equipment and transmission/distribution network analysis, with over 10 years of experience. Mustafa holds a PhD in electrical power systems from the University of Manchester and a First Class Honours Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.

James is Director of the Environment & Engineering Team, which provides support in relation to EIA, acoustics, GIS, shadow flicker, glint & glare and design on a range of energy generation, storage and transmission projects.

Stephen is Director of Energy Networks at TNEI. He previously spent 3 years leading product strategy as Founder and Director for Strategy, Innovation and Product at a start-up venture AIDash.

As a chartered engineer, Stephen had 20 years of experience at National Grid, where he held several positions including Director of Innovation at NGP, an innovation and venture capital business, Head of Technology within Corporate Strategy, and has worked across gas, electricity, and system operator businesses.

Dearbhla is Country Manager and Director of TNEI Ireland. She has over 13 years’ experience within the energy industry in Ireland. Her experience spans power system planning and operation, with expertise in network modelling and power system analysis. Dearbhla has worked in a diversity of roles, both technical and commercial, leading numerous detailed technical and economic analysis of some of Ireland’s largest infrastructure developments.

Gorby is a Director of TNEI India focused on developing TNEI & IPSA’s GRID centre. He has over 10 years of experience working as a Power Systems Engineer with Transmission & Distribution operators, regulatory bodies and industrial clients across the UK on several innovation & BAU projects in the power & energy industry. He also leads and manages IPSA, an interactive power systems analysis software which is used by the energy and power systems industry around the world.

With over 30 years of experience in the power industry, Mike has performed, managed, and directed all tasks associated with pre-construction energy project development. This includes siting, interconnection, developmental engineering, interconnection agreement negotiations, and design. He has extensive managerial experience building and overseeing pre-construction renewable energy project work. Mike is experienced in Consulting Firm Operations and P&L responsibility for groups tasked with pre-construction support, and has project experience in 49+ states and several countries in Central and South America.
