TNEI recently hosted a successful charity five-a-side football tournament in support of “With Kids,” a Glasgow-based charity that provides vital services to children and families in need. The tournament was a fun-filled and competitive event, bringing together six teams from various companies to raise awareness and funds for this remarkable organisation. With Kids, which operates in the East End of Glasgow—one of the areas with the highest levels of poverty in the UK—works tirelessly to support families, offering therapeutic services such as Play Therapy to help children manage challenging emotions. As TNEI celebrates its 25th anniversary, employees are taking part in various activities throughout the year to mark the momentous occasion.   On a sunny September day, TNEI saw the whole team from the Newcastle office spend the day on the Northumberland coast, volunteering their time and skills in the Bamburgh sand dunes with local charity Northumberland Coast Conservation Team (Coast Care Trust).   Colleagues were tasked with supporting the charity in tackling the invasive plant species Pirri Pirri Burr. This task carries international importance on this site which is a SSSI (Site of Significant Scientific Interest) and a protected AONB designation (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty).   The spread of Pirri if left unchecked, would shade out native dune botanicals and Marram grasses. This would threaten the health and stability of the dunes and leave the dunes vulnerable to coastal erosion, impacting on the biodiversity of invertebrates and pollinators and the

When are the ESR tender round deadlines?   National Grid ESO runs restoration tenders periodically to ensure there are sufficient generators and other assets available to provide this service. The latest ESR tender rounds began in 2022 and will continue into 2024, covering the full geography of mainland GB. The South-East and Northern tender has concluded. NGESO have made related decisions on successful ITT1 submissions for the South-West and Midlands and the ITT2 process for these generators is underway. In July 2024 we took the whole TNEI team away for 2 days of team building and celebrations as TNEI marks 25 years since it first all begun! It was an action packed 2 days, kicked off with our AGM hosted by Nigel Tate and Ian Graves. Once the official stuff was out of the way, it was onto TNEI Sports Day where colleagues competed in the usual suspects; 3-legged race, sack race and the egg and spoon race. Congratulations to the winning team James, Harvey, Stephen, Will, Florence, Martin, Sarah, Zahid, Yueqi and Karen! We then partied all night with a BBQ & 90’s quiz & disco with outfits to match! The next day revellers carried on the party with the TNEI in the Park festival where each of our teams had a stand to showcase their work to the rest of the company with activities, competitions and creativity
