Dr Muhammad Ali presented a paper at EWEA Offshore 2015 in Copenhagen, on Wednesday 11th March. Muhammad presented a methodology for determining an electrical layout of an offshore wind farm that is cost-efficient, reliable and features lower losses. The method considers the complete electrical layout from the turbines to the shore and consider the developer’s budget and design requirements as an integral part of the process. The method is applicable to multi-MW offshore wind farms several kilometres away from the land.
