From strategic discussions to graduate development
It’s been an exciting week at TNEI, as colleagues came together for two key events focused on collaboration, learning and professional development. While some colleagues gathered in Manchester for an away day centred on business strategy and team engagement, graduates from across the business also participated in our annual graduate day programme, connecting both in person and remotely from around the world.
Together, the events showcased TNEI’s commitment to bringing people together, sharing knowledge and investing in the future of our business.
Colleagues gather in Manchester for strategy and collaboration
This week, colleagues came together in Manchester for an away day designed to reflect on progress, strengthen connections and discuss future priorities.
The day included a state of the nation update, interactive group exercises and discussions focused on business strategy and how we can best support the ever changing energy market. Attendees also had the opportunity to meet several new starters, who shared insights into their roles and how they contribute to TNEI’s wider goals.
Bringing colleagues together away from the day-to-day demands of project delivery provided valuable opportunities to exchange ideas, build relationships and align on future objectives.
“As we continue to grow, it's important that colleagues understand not only their own role, but how their work contributes to TNEI's wider ambitions. The away day provided an excellent opportunity to share perspectives, welcome new starters and strengthen the connections that help us work effectively as one team.
Stephen Marland, Director of Energy Networks
Graduate Day welcomes emerging talent from across TNEI
At the same time, TNEI was hosting its annual graduate day programme from its Manchester office, bringing together graduates from across the business both in person and remotely.
Now in its fourth year, the two-day event provides an introduction to TNEI’s different service areas while giving graduates hands-on experience of how teams collaborate across the business.
A key part of the programme sees participants work through a project timeline exercise, helping them understand the many ways TNEI contributes throughout the lifecycle of a project. The exercise is designed to give graduates a broader understanding of the business and enable them to see the bigger picture as they progress through their careers.
The day also provides an opportunity for participants from different locations to connect with their peers, share experiences and build relationships across the organisation.
"One of the most rewarding aspects of the day is seeing graduates from across the business come together to learn from one another and build lasting professional connections. The programme is designed to help participants understand how different parts of TNEI work together, giving them a stronger foundation as they develop their careers with us."

Investing in people
Although different in focus, both events shared a common goal: bringing people together.
Whether discussing strategy, welcoming new colleagues or helping graduates gain a better understanding of the wider business, the week’s activities demonstrated TNEI’s ongoing commitment to collaboration, professional development and knowledge sharing.
By creating opportunities for colleagues at every stage of their career to learn from one another and build meaningful connections, TNEI continues to invest in the people who will shape the future of the business.
