STATUS:  37.5 hours per week, Full time, Permanent

LOCATION:  Manchester / Hybrid. Some travel to events will be required.

THE POSITION

The Content Manager plays a central role in translating complex and highly technical information into clear, compelling and engaging content that resonates with TNEI’s audiences. This role thinks creatively to bring ideas to life, adapts narratives for different channels and produces both long form and short form content that supports customer decision making.

With a deep understanding of customer pain points and how TNEI’s experts can help solve them, the Content Manager shapes messaging that is digestible, relevant and aligned to our brand and strategic goals. Curious and collaborative, the Content Manager works closely with teams across the business to uncover insights, gather expertise and ensure our content reflects the latest industry trends.

Owning and driving the content calendar, the Content Manager creates high impact materials that increases brand awareness and engagement across all platforms. Through strong storytelling, a customer first mindset and cross team collaboration, this role makes a visible contribution to how TNEI communicates its value, capabilities and industry expertise.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE

  • Produce and deliver a global content calendar for multiple marketing channels including the TNEI global website, social media, news, blogs, media, digital, events, abstracts, papers, customer communications, videos, webinars and business development materials
  • Collaborate with directors, consultants and business development teams to originate and execute engaging campaigns and content that support business goals and promote new and existing services
  • Manage TNEI’s social media presence to promote content, manage campaigns, measure performance, monitor industry developments and competitor activity and identify emerging trends
  • Manage the TNEI global website to improve visibility, engagement and lead conversion through ongoing search engine (SEO), answer engine optimisation (AEO) and generative engine optimisation (GEO)
  • Work with technical consultants to provide business development materials (collateral, presentations and proposal support)
  • Work with regional TNEI offices to create specific and focused localised content and campaigns
  • Support consultants to produce event speaking opportunity abstracts and papers
  • Work with the Marketing Manager to support events, content opportunities and integrated campaigns
  • Work with consultants and customers to create case studies that demonstrate our expertise in addressing customer challenges
  • Research and understand the needs and trends of the energy industry, making recommendations for content ideas
  • Monitor industry trends, maintain key energy sector memberships and associations to ensure TNEI maximises value from these networks through regular updates, insights, event participation and shared learnings
  • Manage media/PR relationships to position TNEI as an industry influencer and identify new media opportunities
  • Ensure all creative outputs are consistent with the brand voice, style and design
  • Use reporting tools to analyse campaign, marketing channel and content performance and the contribution to ROI
  • Identify ways to leverage AI tools to increase speed, spark creativity and improve the overall quality of content output
  • Supporting internal communications, working with HR and employee groups to deliver news, updates and initiatives
  • Copywriting, proofreading, editing and validating information to ensure content and claims are valid, understandable and accurate

REQUIREMENTS

Essential requirements include: 

  • 5+ years in a marketing role with 3+ years in a content specific role
  • Experience in an engineering, energy, technology, professional services or consultancy company
  • Confident using a content management system (CMS) to maintain website content
  • Confident using LinkedIn to publish content, run sponsored campaigns and analyse performance
  • Able to use Adobe Creative Suite to a good standard (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)

Desirable requirements:  

  • CIM or CIPR qualification or studying towards one
  • Experience working in a global company
  • Able to use a customer relationship management (CRM) system
  • Experience using marketing automation tools

Skills

  • Excellent copywriting skills, use of the English language and cultural language considerations
  • Strong proofreading skills and an eye for detail and accuracy
  • Naturally inquisitive and an interest in conducting background research to fully understand the topic
  • Highly organised to manage multiple campaigns and projects while managing stakeholder’s expectations
  • Ability to maintain standards while meeting tight deadlines
  • A positive attitude, patience and persistence, especially when dealing with various internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Self-motivated
