Python Programming Training Course

Python is a useful programming language that lets you work quickly and integrate your systems effectively. It is particularly useful in the power industry which often demands complex, accurate and computationally intensive analysis. Commercial power system analysis software like IPSA, PSS/e, DIgSILENT contain application programming interfaces (APIs) to Python making it a good choice to automate power system analysis.

Our introductory course is a hands-on training to enable delegates to start programming in Python. The course is structured to be a mixture of lectures and practical examples to make Python easy to learn and fun to try. It also provides knowledge to perform automation in IPSA2 power systems software.

Those who complete this course will be able to gain basic understanding of the Python programming language, learn to write and run basic scripts and be able to read and write data from and to CSV files. Delegates will also learn about functions that can be used in Python and about APIs available in IPSA2. No previous knowledge of Python is required, but a knowledge of power systems and IPSA2 will be helpful.
