TNEI have a team of seven Chartered Town Planners based in England and Scotland who have extensive experience gained across the UK in managing the document production and submission process specific to each route. The team provide representation at Hearings and can serve as an Expert Witnesses at Public Inquiries. In addition to this Planning specialism, TNEI’s can supply Public Inquiry Expert Witnesses in the fields of Noise, Ecology and Ornithology.

The appeals process can appear daunting giving rise to unwelcome uncertainty for developers. The regulations that govern the submission of information may appear complex and concerns can grow with regard to the cost in terms of time, money and reputation. TNEI can provide welcome clarity.

TNEI has the experience of managing and assisting in the prosecution of all three appeal routes across a range of project types and sizes. Our team of Chartered Town Planners, working with our in-house Technical Consultants, have served the full spectrum of major appeals (appearing as Expert Witnesses at multiple wind turbine public inquiries) through to minor appeals (the submission of written representations for temporary meteorological monitoring masts) with the same level of professionalism and determination to make the best case on the behalf of the Appellant.

The majority of our Chartered Town Planners have Planning Authority backgrounds which gives TNEI a unique insight as to how proposals can fall foul of the planning process and how best they can be overturned or reversed (not necessarily by way of an appeal but possibly by way of a negotiated re-submission of a revised proposal).

TNEI’s specialist and experienced staff have the grounding in planning law and case precedent necessary to ensure the appeal process is effectively monitored and managed in the best interest of the Appellant. This means that cases are fought to time and budget which helps to minimise the risks for the Appellant.
